Our Seed Story
The Marlton Seed Exchange launched at the Evesham Library through a great partnership with the Evesham Library and The Garden Club of Marlton (GCM).
In July 2025, the GCM Seed Team created the very first library seed binder, initially featuring 10 kinds of pollinator-friendly annual seeds (like zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, and more) sourced directly from club members' gardens. The binder includes simple planting tips and hand-drawn pictures.
A special thank you to Sonia, our Evesham Library liaison, who continues to help us expand the binders and even inspired our unique reference corner with houseplant cuttings for sharing!
This program encourages the community to add small, pollinator-friendly areas (corners, strips, or containers) to their backyards. We believe these small additions make a huge impact on essential local pollinators like birds, butterflies, and bees
Last fall, our members visited Chartwell Gardens to harvest a massive variety of seeds, which we’ve carefully packeted for you. We also partnered with the Native Plant Society, SW Chapter, at the Camden County Sustainability Campus following their seed-saving workshop. NPS-SWC donated a huge surplus of native seeds—both cleaned and ready for processing—specifically for the Evesham Library free seed binders.
These partnerships are the foundation of our Native Seed Binder and we were able to offer our FIRST WINTER SOWING workshop, January 2026, at the Evesham Library, under the Burlington County Library System. (BCLS).
